Art of The Tin Toy

We are always looking to buy good, early toys of the type that we sell and will pay a fair market price based on condition and rarity. When selling please remember that a mint toy, especially if boxed, can be worth several times the value of an average condition example.

From a dealer’s viewpoint it also has the advantage that there are no restoration/cleaning costs and it can be offered for sale immediately. Conversely, a toy - even a good, rare toy - requiring conservation, restoration or cleaning requires time (often a long time) and money (usually a lot) to return it to a saleable, collectable and desirable condition. Despite the expenses and the time involved in restoration the toy will still be worth much less than a mint original example, so our buying price has to reflect this.

We are always interested to hear of any early, unusual toys for sale. Please email details, preferably with a photograph, to david@artofthetintoy.com
